Come celebrate 2 years of Take a Hike! with us at Sugarloaf Mountain! We'll enjoy a scenic hike followed by a fun potluck picnic to celebrate two years of hiking adventures, great friendships, and unforgettable memories. Bring your hiking shoes, your appetite, and something tasty to share! Whether you've been with us from the beginning or recently joined the group, we'd love to have you celebrate this milestone with us!

After the hike, we'll head over to Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard for our 2-Year Anniversary Potluck! It's a great opportunity to relax, enjoy some good food, and socialize with fellow hikers. Since we have a potluck afterward, we'll keep this hike easier than our usual Sugarloaf hikes. We'll do an out-and-back hike to White Rocks , skipping the steep stairs and saving some energy for the celebration!

Meeting Time & Location: We’ll meet at 9:30 AM at the Sugarloaf Mountain West View Parking Lot. Look for us by the picnic tables near the trailhead.

Distance: 4.4 miles Elevation Gain: 870 feet Difficulty: Intermediate Hike This hike is rated Intermediate based on it's moderate inclines / elevation changes. There are no stream crossings or rock scrambles.

Estimated Duration This hike is expected to take approximately 2.5 hours.

Pace: Moderate Pace We'll walk a steady, comfortable pace that’s manageable for most hikers with a reasonable fitness level. Breaks are regular but not overly frequent, allowing for a balanced experience of exercise and enjoyment.

Parking We’ll park at the West View Parking Lot , which has plenty of spaces available and is a convenient starting point for our hike. Please refer to the event map to locate the correct parking area. Do not park at the East View Parking Area, which is the first parking area you’ll pass.

Restrooms There are a couple of porta-potties located at the trailhead for your convenience. Be sure to plan accordingly, as these are the only restroom facilities available on this hike.

Lunch After the Hike We'll enjoy our 2-year anniversary potluck at Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard after the hike. The vineyard allows us to bring our own food and non-alcoholic beverages, but no outside alcohol is permitted. Location: Sugarloaf Mountain Vineyard, 18125 Comus Rd, Dickerson, MD 20842
