Artist Pop-Up @ Hood College

About this event

María Raíz at Hood College’s 9th Annual Pop-Up Art Sale

On November 23 & 24, 2026 , I’ll be participating in Hood College’s 9th Annual Pop-Up Art Sale in Whitaker Commons , alongside artists and makers from across the Hood community.

At my table, I’ll have a small collection of art prints available for purchase , with proceeds helping support the continued creation and production of my upcoming solo exhibition, Cuerpo, Tierra, y Memoria , taking place April 15, 2027.

But this table will hold more than art for sale.

I’ll also be bringing a growing collection of handwritten messages of encouragement —notes written by strangers for strangers who may need a little kindness, reassurance, or hope. Visitors are invited to pause, read through the messages, take in whatever words meet them that day, and leave a message of their own.

The notes created during the Pop-Up will later become part of an interactive installation at Cuerpo, Tierra, y Memoria , allowing a small piece of the Hood community to live inside the exhibition next spring.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about several CTM works currently in progress and displayed inside Hood College’s Counseling Department group counseling room —a rare opportunity to encounter the paintings while they are still becoming.

Come browse the art, leave a little encouragement for someone you may never meet, and catch an early glimpse into the world of Cuerpo, Tierra, y Memoria .
