HEALTH NEWS

  • The Maryland Department of Health warned travelers on Amtrak and BWI shuttles (Jan. 7-8) of potential measles exposure after an infectious case traveled; those who may have been exposed should check their immunization status and monitor for symptoms over 21 days.  WFMD
  • A groundhog near West Patrick Street and McCain Drive tested positive for rabies — a community member moved the animal off the roadway on Jan. 9, and health officials now urge anyone who touched it to see a provider.  Daily Voice
