- ➤ Maryland Gov Wes Moore declared a State of Preparedness Friday as a major winter storm heads toward the area, with heavy snow and icy conditions expected Saturday afternoon. Emergency agencies are on standby (and residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel) as hazardous road conditions are anticipated. WFMD
- ➤ A new tourism plan for Frederick County was proposed, and community input was gathered yesterday at the Monocacy National Battlefield visitor center, reflecting efforts to guide local tourism. Officials said the plan will be reviewed and updated in the coming months. Frederick News-Post
