- ➤ A Maryland family-backed fundraiser has raised over $7,300 to support trucker Shawn Slagle and his wife Deborah after a truck crash in Wyoming killed his cherished Shih Tzu, Honeybear (the loyal co-pilot). The funds will cover crash expenses and fund a memorial cross for the dog. Daily Voice

- ➤ Two local organizations have received grants from the Maryland Historical Trust to support heritage site preservation in Frederick County (helping maintain Black history). Frederick News-Post

- ➤ Frederick County Public Schools is set to receive $6.7 million more than estimated for its FY27 operating budget after the state allocated extra funding, which will support district programs. Frederick News-Post

- ➤ The City stated it will not issue fines for uncleared sidewalks after this weekend's storm but may send a Notice of Violation to owners who do not clear within 24 hours—snow removal will then be billed if sidewalks remain unsafe. City of Frederick
