EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Hood College Board of Trustees named Dr. Debbie Ricker as its new president during its March meeting. Ricker, who served as interim president since July 1st, will take over the role on April 1st.  WFMD
  • Destination Imagination teams from two Frederick County schools placed at a state tournament on Saturday.  Frederick News-Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Frederick County Work Force Services posted new job openings on March 17th for roles such as a Pack Shed/Food Safety Manager, Delivery Driver, Document Specialist, and others in technology and construction — candidates should email their resume with the specified subject line. Additional positions require skills like Spanish proficiency and technical expertise — the listings detail requirements and contact instructions.  WFMD
  • The Maryland State Highway Administration will begin a paving and milling project today at the US 340 and Md. 67 off ramps from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and expect to finish by mid-April weather permitting. Francis O. Day Construction, Inc. (contractor from Rockville) will use electronic signs, barrels, and cones to alert drivers, and narrow lanes may occur (please slow down in the work zone).  WFMD
