  • Frederick County Sheriff's Office arrested 31-year-old Marquisha Watts on March 21 for 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, and reckless endangerment after she stabbed an employee at the FSK Mall+ she is held without bond.  WFMD

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Frederick Classical Charter School was renewed for 10 years — and its enrollment was increased by 20 seats.  Frederick News-Post
  • Higher education institutions in Frederick County worry about a federal funding freeze that is causing confusion + they fear it may hurt academic programs in the future.  Frederick News-Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Frederick County’s Workforce Services and Division of Families Services are launching a child care initiative—featuring several training and certification programs—aimed at increasing available child care. The program will help providers meet rising demands in the county.  Frederick News-Post
