- ➤ The CDC reports that a new COVID variant (Cicada) has been detected in wastewater samples from Maryland and nearby states and is causing mostly mild, cold-like symptoms. Frederick residents are advised to stay current with their vaccines to reduce the risk of severe illness. Daily Voice
- ➤ Frederick County Fire and Rescue Lt. Justin Laidler, a dedicated firefighter, was recently diagnosed with ALS, prompting community support.
