- ➤ Dynamic Automotive celebrates 30 years in Frederick County at its Urbana facility — its service bays display a large red motto reading "Keep Lives Moving Forward." Frederick News-Post
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On April 2, the Frederick County Sustainability Commission began accepting nominations for its annual 2025 Sustainability Awards to honor local environmental champions among individuals, students, businesses, and organizations. The awards will recognize those who lead in sustainability efforts. Frederick County
- ➤ Maryland Department of the Environment said yesterday that due to dry weather — and little rain, a drought watch was upgraded to a drought warning across most of the state. Groundwater levels in Carroll and Frederick Counties remain low — and officials are working with local water systems to plan for possible restrictions this summer. WFMD
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Frederick County launched its Whole Blood Program on February 13th, 2025, which lets trained paramedics give blood at the scene of accidents and emergencies — vehicles use state-of-the-art warming and transfusion technology. County officials said a blood drive is planned and more details will be shared soon. WFMD
- ➤ The city of Frederick is exploring changes to encourage developers to build a range of housing options to address the shortage of affordable homes. Frederick News-Post
