ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A tanker carrying about 2,600 gallons of fuel overturned at North Seton Avenue — Provincial Parkway in Frederick today at about 7:45 a.m., prompting firefighters, hazmat crews, and police to secure the scene after 30 to 40 gallons spilled and less than five gallons reached a nearby stream. - ➤ High school students in Frederick County Public Schools shared their experiences with fairness and respect on Tuesday and asked for more outreach so that all students feel included — they stressed the need for ongoing efforts to improve equity. Frederick News-Post

- ➤ Frederick County State Senator Karen Lewis Young said the 2025 Maryland General Assembly was one of her most challenging sessions because a $3 billion state budget deficit forced $1.6 billion in cuts. She helped pass seven bills including one to study expanding a nurse home visit program and another to support veterinary professionals — while she secured more than $10 million for local projects such as the Maryland Deaf Community Center.
