- ➤ Alicia Souder, a Parkway Elementary teacher, was surprised with Frederick County Public Schools’ 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year Award in the school gym; she quickly went to her family + they celebrated her recognition. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ Carroll Manor Elementary School held a surprise assembly in the cafeteria to honor a teacher with the Hood Award (while his assistant, Kiriaki Kontos, was absent due to illness). The celebration marked a special recognition in education. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ Hood College's president said on Monday that the institution is not closing after a claim from a student loan company suggested otherwise. The college clarified that there is no plan to shut its doors. Frederick News-Post
