- ➤ Maryland Public Television will air Chesapeake Bay Week from April 20th through April 26th to present 18 hours of programming on the Bay’s history, heritage, food and recreation. The season’s centerpiece, Resurrecting Poplar Island, will premiere on April 20th at 7:30 p.m.—additional programs will explore environmental restoration and sustainable farming practices. WFMD
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ Monday was the last day to file taxes and Maryland residents could use IRS Direct File for free if their return was simple. Taxpayers who owed money had to pay by Tuesday to avoid extra interest and needed to have all required forms ready. DC News Now

- ➤ Frederick County is celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week to honor its 911 professionals for their quick decisions and calm support during emergencies—emphasizing their vital role in keeping our community safe. Frederick County
- ➤ State Highway Administration officials announced that funding is in place for the US 15 widening project in Frederick that will add a third lane in each direction between I-70 and MD Route 26, install intelligent traffic monitoring and noise walls, and include utility relocations starting soon. Project design work is expected to be 65% complete (by 2026) while construction is planned for 2028 (with crews set to conduct soil boring and data collection). WFMD
