EDUCATION NEWS

  • Marisa Hombach created the Michael A. Hombach Scholarship Fund in memory of her husband to offer scholarships for students studying education and behavioral health (a Community Foundation fund). The fund will support students as they work toward careers in these fields.  Frederick News-Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Thursday, April 17, Frederick renewed its contract with its employee health insurance provider to continue benefits for city workers.  Frederick News-Post
  • Frederick residents will see a 3% increase in water and sewer rates each year for five years starting July 1 — a change approved by City Council Thursday.  Frederick News-Post
