Good morning, Frederick.

Maryland mother Margo Cook, 39, who works at Boonsboro Elementary and cares for two children, was hit by a car while walking her dog in Greencastle, Pennsylvania on April 25 and suffered severe head and leg injuries that required emergency skull and leg surgeries, and she is now recovering at a shock trauma center plus her community is raising funds to cover her rising medical expenses.
Pretzel and Pizza Creations has been a downtown Frederick staple for over 30 years—its menu and operations evolving as the neighborhood changes.
The business now adjusts its style to meet local demands.
At a Wednesday hearing, critics told the Frederick County Board of Education that the proposed fiscal year 2026 budget of 988 million dollars—a five-percent increase—is too heavy on administrators and out of step with low student performance rates.
Testifiers urged lowering administrator salaries and reevaluating school spending as the system faces a 21.7 million-dollar deficit.
