ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday when a passenger vehicle failed to yield on Kemptown Church Road and struck the motorcycle traveling south on Route 80—troopers responded around 4:30 p.m. and closed the area for several hours while the investigation continued. WFMD
- ➤ A 20-year-old from Sandy Hook died Tuesday night on May 6 when she was hit by a train near Harpers Ferry National Historical Park while trying to save a boy at around 8:18 p.m. — her family said she acted with heroism amidst a tragic accident. Daily Voice

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The school board approved construction documents for the Middletown co-located school after more than a year of design—paving the way for upcoming construction plans. Frederick News-Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The County Council will hold a public hearing on May 13th at 7:00 p.m. in Winchester Hall (12 East Church Street) to discuss amendments to Bill 25-05 that update design requirements for critical digital infrastructure facilities and electric substations; the public may participate by watching live or sending written comments. - ➤ The Maryland State Highway Administration announced that the Md 28 Dickerson Road bridge over the Monocacy River in Frederick County will be closed on Saturday, May 10 from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. to allow pre-construction work after damage from a truck collision last October — motorists will follow detours via Md 85, Md 80, and Md 109.
