Frederick County deputies searched for a Hispanic man in his 20s after he attempted to break into a home on Mountaindale Road on May 8 + the suspect broke a window and fled on foot when a resident called 911.

The Frederick County Board of Education reduced the school district's budget gap for the next fiscal year from $21.1 million to $6.8 million on Wednesday — officials believe this step will help balance spending.

Frederick County was named Maryland’s first Bird County by the Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership during Earth Week 2025—recognizing its work in ecosystem restoration, environmental education, and habitat protection.
