  • Firefighter-paramedic Justin Hogue, a local first responder recovering at Shock Trauma after a motorcycle crash on Thursday, May 28, has begun walking 100 steps with a walker and standing with assistance, and he is expected to transition home soon.  Daily Voice

  • The Greater Frederick chapter of Wild Ones is hosting its third annual Native Plant Garden Tour on Saturday, June 6 (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) in local gardens. Attendees will explore native plants and learn about their benefits to the environment.  Frederick News-Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Farmers in Frederick and neighboring counties have suffered heavy losses from an April freeze, and Governor Wes Moore has ordered state agencies to provide relief while officials work with federal partners—support for orchards and vineyards is expected to begin slowly.  WFMD

  • Developers joined with city, county and state officials Monday to break ground on The Madison, a 60-unit affordable housing community on North Market Street. Supporters say the project will help address local housing needs — offering more affordable options for residents.  Frederick News-Post
