- ➤ The Catoctin Furnace Historical Society will host the inaugural Music at the Museum outdoor concert from 6 to 9 p.m. June 13 at the Museum of the Ironworker, 12610 Catoctin Furnace. - ➤ Frederick County is hosting meetings on grant opportunities to expand broadband access in rural areas—one meeting is at Urbana Regional Library on Tuesday, June 24 at 6 p.m. and a second is at Middletown Branch Library on Tuesday, July 1 at 6 p.m., where county officials along with Shentel and Comcast representatives will answer residents’ questions. - ➤ Gov. Wes Moore announced Tuesday a $292,600 grant award to Frederick Community College to create new life sciences rooms and expand its biotech lab — an effort to strengthen local life sciences infrastructure. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ Frederick Mayor Michael O’Connor vetoed the fiscal year 2026 budget on Tuesday—he was not willing to accept nearly $3M in cuts that would reduce funding for non-profits and the police department.
