CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Devan Marshall Fyke, 32, was arrested on June 16 after a 911 call reported he abducted and restrained his girlfriend during a domestic dispute near New Design Road — he later released her near Buckeystown Pike and was booked on charges including second-degree assault and false imprisonment before being released on his own recognizance while investigators continue examining the case. - ➤ A theft occurred early Friday at High's in New Market when three men wearing ski masks stole cigarette cartons valued at $7,700 from the store at 11780 Old National Pike — detectives are investigating the case and ask anyone with information to contact the Sheriff's Office. WFMD
- ➤ Devon Marshall Fyke, 32, of Charles Town, West Virginia was charged with second-degree assault, false imprisonment, theft between $100 and $1500, and malicious destruction of property after he allegedly restrained a woman on June 16 at 11:00 p.m. along New Design Road, released her near Buckeystown Pike & English Muffin Way, and was later taken into custody at a Sheetz store in Brunswick before being released on personal recognizance. - ➤ City of Frederick will open fall field registration on July 1 with applications accepted through July 15 for field dates from August 1 to November 30.
