- ➤ Frederick will host its annual Pride events this weekend with a parade on Friday, June 27 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and a festival on Saturday, June 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., causing road closures and traffic delays downtown + officers will guide motorists to alternate routes. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Baltimore Customs and Border Protection officers seized nearly 700 pounds of DMT from air cargo shipments arriving in Baltimore between May 7 and May 27 and destined for Harford County on Tuesday, June 24, with the drugs shipped from Chiapas and valued at about $555,000—an investigation is ongoing. - ➤ A Walkersville man, Pavel Obambe (35), was charged on Tuesday with first degree murder, second degree murder, second degree assault and false imprisonment after his mother-in-law, Christine Liboula (68), was found dead at her home on Sunday morning in the 8400 block of Foresight Lane after she tried to stop an assault on another resident on June 21. - ➤ Police responded to a report of shots fired near Walker Alley and Lord Nickens Street at 10:57 p.m. Monday night, and although several buildings were struck there were no injuries as investigators continue their inquiry—residents are asked to share any helpful information. WFMD

- ➤ Frederick County Government will host a Disability Pride Celebration on July 1 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Arc at Market Street - open to all and featuring a proclamation from County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, dancing, music, a talent showcase and an ice cream social. Frederick County
- ➤ Beginning July 1, the Frederick County Division of Solid Waste & Recycling will launch new service and infrastructure changes that include upgraded management software, expanded lithium-ion battery and textile recycling programs, and revised fee structures with a $10 minimum rate for transactions and a $25 fee for yard waste drop-offs — residents can drop off up to five 30-gallon paper yard waste bags free during regular hours.
