- ➤ Frederick County Animal Control sought a forever home for Giblet, a 2-year-old pit bull mix with special needs including bilateral rear luxating patellas and a K9 cart as shelter renovations increased his stress. He attended blind dates on July 9 at 2:30 p.m. and is known for his friendly nature with other dogs, children and cats. DC News Now

- ➤ On Tuesday night at about 9:30 p.m., Frederick police responded to reports of shots fired near West South and Burck Streets and found that gunfire had damaged some homes with no injuries—investigators are checking if the incident is linked to a shooting on June 23. WFMD
- ➤ A Baltimore man, 21, was convicted in Frederick County of first-degree premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping and carjacking in connection with the January murder of 65-year-old Brice Boots whose body was found in a Walkersville field — sentencing is set to take place in about eight weeks.
