ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Family, loved ones, and community members gathered at Watkins Park in Mt. Airy Sunday night to remember 13-year-old Mason Kearns, who died after being swept into a drainage pipe during last week’s flash floods — a Go-Fund-Me page was set up to help his family.  WFMD

  • Frederick Speaker Series will bring guests Jeff Corwin, Laura Lynne Jackson, Dr. William Li, Walter Mosley + Carol Anderson to the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick as part of its season lineup.  Frederick News-Post
  • Sebastian and Mateo Ferro plan a festival — the empty field outside of Urbana represents their dream venue — to showcase local music talent; they hope the event will boost exposure for local performers.  Frederick News-Post

  • Frederick County Work Force Services has posted several new job openings today including a restaurant manager for a 24-hour chain, a production laborer at a plant, a maintenance technician for a fast-food franchise, a field service technician, a catering chef, a bilingual customer service representative and field installers with hourly wages and benefits. The job ads detail work hours, training programs and key requirements — some roles offer on-the-job training — and interested candidates should follow the provided application instructions.  WFMD
