- ➤ A National Night Out event on Tuesday night at Hill Street Park featured a DJ playing music and the aroma of burgers and hot dogs from a grill—creating a festive mood that brought local residents together. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ Volunteers in Frederick are using Collective Church’s Next Steps program to complete 30 service projects for local non-profits fighting hunger and addressing community needs—showing strong local support. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ State troopers patrolled I-70 in Frederick, Howard and Washington counties last Saturday, issuing 233 citations and warnings while making five DUI arrests and stopping four drivers for speeding over 89 mph in a 40-minute period — authorities urged drivers to slow down, drive sober and stay alert. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Since July 28, four career firefighters—including one captain, one technician, and two firefighter/EMTs—have been assigned to Station 21 at Wolfsville Fire Hall in Myersville. They will work Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., a collaboration to improve response times and enhance community safety. WFMD
