- ➤ Friendly's, under parent company DFA Dairy Brands, recalled 324 cartons of Cookies and Cream ice cream due to a labeling error—Vanilla Bean containers were used without listing wheat and soy allergens, which could risk consumers with allergies. The recalled product was sold in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, and shoppers are urged to return it to the store for a full refund as no allergic reactions have been reported. Daily Voice

- ➤ A Mount Airy man, Mark Brigham, 35, was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 6 after detectives raided his home on Woodville Road, seizing firearms & child pornography as part of an ongoing investigation into charges including sexual abuse of a minor and child rape, with further charges expected. - ➤ Frederick County authorities arrested 27-year-old Travis Peters from Thurmont on Wednesday—he faces charges of sexual solicitation of a minor, distribution of obscene material to a minor, and solicitation of child pornography after a cybertip led to the investigation. WFMD
