Frederick County residents attended a public meeting Wednesday about a construction permit for Aligned Data Centers and voiced concern over planned backup diesel generators — and the centers’ power and water use on local resources.

They said the proposal could affect community services and environmental quality in the area.

Frederick nonprofit Platoon 22 announced it will leave the veteran center — a facility it helped open with Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley in late 2022 — after disagreements emerged, and this move is expected to affect service options for local veterans.
