- ➤ The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and Boys & Girls Clubs of Frederick County hosted the third annual Badges for Baseball Camp at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove, which offered baseball drills and games for local kids—helping them learn teamwork. Local officials said the event boosted confidence in young athletes. Frederick News-Post
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Frederick County Grand Jury indicted ten people on Friday including Thomas Dontrell Smallwood, 38 of Cumberland, who is charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and cocaine after a July 8th traffic stop on Interstate 70 — the cases now move to Circuit Court for trial scheduling. - ➤ Maryland man Kilmar Abrego Garcia was released from custody in Tennessee and is now heading back home under ICE supervision after an unlawful detention and deportation drew national outrage—his lawyer said he will have 72 hours to plan with his lawyer if the government tries to deport him again. - ➤ Frederick police arrested 21 year old Malkin Kevin Martin on August 20 following a traffic stop on Hamilton Avenue — a police canine detected suspected drugs in his white sedan which was searched to reveal a manufactured handgun without a serial number and suspected crack cocaine — and he was taken to detention.
