ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire on Sunday destroyed a barn and a second building—part of a well-known therapeutic riding center near Thurmont—with no injuries reported for people or animals.  Frederick News-Post

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Weinberg Center for the Performing Arts in Frederick will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year and is asking residents to share ideas by September 15th—this event marks its history as the Tivoli Theater, which opened on December 23rd, 1926. The center has played a long role in the local arts scene and continues to grow in community importance.  WFMD
  • The solo exhibition (Single Player Game) featuring work by Sarah Ernst will open at Gaslight Gallery in downtown Frederick and run from Sept. 6 to 28.  Frederick News-Post
