- ➤ A Frederick County retiree won $100,000 on the $5,000,000 Fortune scratch-off — a $50 game — when she visited Lottery headquarters in Baltimore on Sept. 9; she plans to use part of her win for a special trip with her husband for their 35th wedding anniversary and will keep playing the Lottery. - ➤ The Great Frederick Fair at the Frederick Fairgrounds will start tomorrow and run through Sept. 20th. The event offers concerts, rides, contests— and family events for all ages. Frederick News-Post

- ➤ Frederick County will hold a meeting on data centers on September 25 at 6:00 PM at the church hall at Saint Joseph on Carrollton Manor—5643 Manor Woods Road in Adamstown where county staff will explain new rules that cut available acreage for centers and preserve farmland; citizens are invited to attend if they RSVP. - ➤ The American Red Cross is asking local residents to donate blood because hospitals rely on its supply for life-saving transfusions. Donors who give blood will receive a Peanuts-themed tee-shirt—an exclusive reward available until September 21st. WFMD
