- ➤ Choice Mutual's national survey of more than 3,000 people found that Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick ranks among the 140 most beautiful hidden cemeteries in the US. The survey praised its historic landscaping and peaceful charm, especially when fall leaves add extra beauty. Daily Voice

- ➤ Jenn Alcorn, the widow of a Frederick Police lieutenant — an advocate for fallen first responders, announced that she is running for Frederick County Council District 1 today. She hopes to ensure that the voices of affected families are heard in local government. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ Frederick County Councilman Jerry Donald is running for State Delegate from District Four because he wants to bring more state tax dollars to local schools and projects. He will launch his campaign at Middletown Park on October 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. — and he hopes to secure funds for Brunswick High School improvements. WFMD
