- ➤ Residents will gather today at 7 p.m. at Baker Park near Fleming and College Avenues — honoring Charlie Kirk with a vigil for prayer and reflection. WFMD
- ➤ On Wednesday, youths spent five hours at the Great Frederick Fair showing off their goats, including does, kids, and dry yearlings—while rain pattered and bleats filled the air. Frederick News-Post

- ➤ Live at Hub City Vinyl has opened its second stage to host live music in Frederick — the expansion aims to boost local cultural events and offer more performance opportunities for community artists. Frederick News-Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Frederick residents are invited to share their feedback on MDOT’s draft Consolidated Transportation Program for Fiscal Years 2026—2031 at a meeting scheduled for September 24 at 6 p.m. at Winchester Hall on E. Church Street—officials will also broadcast the meeting live for those unable to attend in person. Frederick County
- ➤ Motorists at the intersection of Old Frederick Road and Devilbiss Bridge Road will see new stop signs installed on all four legs beginning on Wednesday, October 1st — Frederick County officials decided that adding the sign along Old Frederick Road improves traffic safety. WFMD
- ➤ Frederick County Council’s 2026 legislative package includes a proposal to create a new subclass of taxable business personal property for datacenters—officials will review the measure in upcoming sessions. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ CSX will close the Doubs Road railroad crossing near Adamstown on or about Sept. 29 for about three days to upgrade the crossing with new asphalt—motorists are advised to follow detour signs along New Design Road, Mountville Road, Ballenger Creek Pike and Pleasant View Road. WFMD
