- ➤ On Sept. 4, the Frederick Civitan Club held its monthly in-person meeting at Ledo Pizza in Frederick—new members were welcomed by the club. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ On Thursday evening, the Frederick community gathered at Baker Park to honor Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated last week in Utah, by lighting candles, raising American flags, and singing hymns with bagpipe music. His widow—Erika Kirk—will lead Turning Point USA as its new CEO to continue his work and legacy. WFMD

- ➤ Frederick Health Auxiliary awarded four scholarships totaling $10,000 to four local high school students at Frederick Health Hospital on May 1—one recipient was Aditya. Frederick News-Post

- ➤ Frederick City Council unanimously designated the Franklin Street chapel as historic despite a saga of confusing permits and partial demolition — the decision adds the chapel to the city’s historic overlay. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ Frederick County residents and officials will meet with state leaders next week to share their priorities for transportation projects in the coming year. Frederick News-Post
