- ➤ Frederick County Board of Education’s Policy Committee is considering changes to public comment rules after profanity and disruptions marred recent school board meetings—officials plan to set limits that respect free speech while ensuring order. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ New design documents show Linganore Creek Elementary School will open in 2026 as FCPS’s first three-story elementary school—making it a historic first for the district. Frederick News-Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Carroll County Commissioners filed an amicus brief on September 25 to support landowner rights against the proposed MPRP. They asked the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to vacate a lower court order that allowed PSEG representatives to enter private properties for environmental studies along a 67-mile power line running from Baltimore County to Adamstown — a project affecting lands in Carroll and Frederick counties. - ➤ Wednesday night, MDOT hosted its annual Road Show at Winchester Hall in Frederick to update citizens on the Consolidated Transportation Program—officials said US Route 15 improvements are in design with construction set to begin in 2028. Local leaders also asked for funding for the I70 Phase Four project and for pedestrian improvements along MD 26 in Libertytown. WFMD
