  • Transit Services of Frederick County received three awards for leadership and innovation at the TAM conference—Mary Dennis earned the Rising Star Award and Deputy Director Jaime McKay won the Outstanding Leadership Award as the system saw a 9% ridership increase, while Visit Frederick named the group Tourism Ambassador of the Year for its role in supporting local tourism.  Frederick County

  • Maryland mother Tonya Outlaw is fighting Stage 3 breast cancer and saying she gets strength from her family and community — she has faced many tests, injections, chemotherapy, and radiation that have taken a heavy toll. Her cousin called on everyone to keep her in prayers and share her GoFundMe page to help cover her mounting medical costs.  Daily Voice
  • Physicians at Frederick Health Hospital have begun using 3D technology to support its robotic lung biopsy systems — this change helps doctors diagnose lung cancer at an earlier stage.  Frederick News-Post
  • Frederick County Health Department is asking the public to help locate a Caucasian man in his late 20s or early 30s who brought a rabid raccoon wrapped in a fleece blanket to Care Vet Clinic at 1080 West Patrick Street on October 13th near midnight—he should call 240-313-9515 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. or 301-600-0312 after 5:00 p.m. for guidance as anyone exposed to rabies risks death.  WFMD
