- ➤ Renovations continue on the downtown Frederick location for Ekiben — a popular Baltimore restaurant — but complications mean the restaurant will not have a set opening date at this time. Frederick News-Post
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Three rising acts from Nashville—Risa Binder, Christian Lopez and Six One Five Collective—will perform at the Weinberg Center in Frederick, bringing Music City's heart and soul to our local stage. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ Red‑Winged Blackbird Records is accepting nominations for its 2025 Guitars for Girls initiative — offering 20 new acoustic guitars with accessory kits to girls aged 8‑17 in Frederick and the Appalachian region. Nominations can be submitted by parents, teachers, mentors, or the nominees themselves until November 15 or until 100 submissions are received. WFMD
- ➤ Il Divo, a renowned vocal group on their world tour, will perform at the Weinberg Center for the Arts on October 29 at 7:30 p.m.—the event will showcase their famed vocal talent for local music fans. Frederick News-Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Maryland Department of the Environment gave more than $20,000 Tuesday to a Frederick facility—money meant to support installing EV charging stations—as part of a larger state investment to improve electric vehicle access. The award will help the project add more charging stations soon. Frederick News-Post
