- ➤ The Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club celebrated its 50th anniversary on November 8 at the Wormans Mill Conservancy Clubhouse, drawing more than 160 members and guests — marking a milestone in local tradition. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ Frederick residents heard on Thursday from a design firm about a possible design for the Westside community center. The firm explained that the ideas may guide future development and community services at the center. Frederick News-Post

- ➤ Kroger will close its high-tech fulfillment center near Frederick in January — the move is part of an effort to improve its e-commerce service. Frederick News-Post

- ➤ Gov. Wes Moore—speaking in Frederick on Friday—announced that AstraZeneca plans to invest nearly $2 billion in expanding its bio-pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity in Frederick and Montgomery counties. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ The Frederick County Division of Aging and Independence is collecting donations for holiday gift bags for 300 homebound Meals on Wheels recipients at five 50+ Community Centers through November 26—items requested include new hats, gloves, scarves, toiletries, and individually wrapped treats without religious imagery.
