CULTURE NEWS

  • Museums by Candlelight will brighten Frederick County as more than 25 museums and historic sites welcome visitors for an annual celebration hosted by the Frederick Historic Sites Consortium (Visit Frederick leads the event).  Frederick News-Post

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Frederick announced upcoming construction at Carroll Creek Park to improve facilities and pedestrian access. The project will begin soon to enhance park amenities for local residents.  City of Frederick
  • Frederick County Work Force Services listed new job openings on December 8 — spanning roles such as Digital Marketing Director, Bartender/Server, and Finance Assistant — with salaries ranging from $15 per hour to $130K per year. HEALTH NEWS

  • The Frederick County Health Department awarded up to $10,000 to three local organizations for programs that prevent youth vaping + tobacco use. The funds will boost education and awareness among young people.  Frederick News-Post
  • Wegmans recalled its unsalted Deluxe Mixed Nuts on Friday, Dec. 5 after testing flagged possible Salmonella contamination in products (34 oz tubs and 11.5 oz bags) sold from Nov. 3 to Dec. 1. Customers in Maryland should check labels and return affected items for a full refund.  Daily Voice
