EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Frederick County Public Schools announced new assistant principals at Gov. Thomas Johnson and Urbana high schools — appointments aimed at strengthening school leadership for the district. Frederick News-Post
- ➤ Frederick County Public Schools invites high school students to the Youth Apprenticeship Summit at Frederick Community College on Thursday, Dec. 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The program will offer career workshops, networking with employers, and guidance on apprenticeship opportunities in fields such as manufacturing, IT, construction, and health care. - ➤ Frederick County Public Schools received a grant ($137,384) to improve school security by updating mapping data; officials said the funding will standardize school maps and boost safety measures for students. Frederick News-Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City-owned land may be used for housing and other projects, according to Mayor Michael O’Connor. City officials will review the proposals before a final decision is made. Frederick News-Post
HEALTH NEWS
