CULTURE NEWS

  • Frederick High School will host a Lunar New Year celebration on Sunday, Feb.15 with vendor exhibits and family activities starting at noon and a performance from 2 to 4. Tickets are $12 (or $8 if bought by Jan.1) as the community welcomes the Year of the Fire Horse.  WFMD

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater announced that Chad King Wilson Sr. was nominated to fill the Board of Education seat left open by Nancy Allen's resignation. The County Council will review his pick soon as he brings 19 years of classroom teaching + local coaching experience.  Frederick County
  • Chad King Wilson has been chosen to fill the vacant seat on the Frederick County Board of Education after Nancy Allen resigned. The County Executive said the educator (with 19 years of teaching and coaching experience) will be confirmed by the County Council at an upcoming meeting.  WFMD
