ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Veteran and former police officer Rony Cabrera, 22, died in a three—vehicle crash on I—70 near Exit 62 in New Market when a BMW SUV hit his box truck on Sunday around 4:10 p.m. and forced his truck into a tractor trailer, which then caught fire. Daily Voice
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Donald Bernard Brooks, 67, pleaded guilty to sex offenses against two minors and was sentenced on Wednesday to 18 years in prison — he will be on five years of supervised probation with no contact with the victims and face additional electronic monitoring after his release. WFMD

- ➤ Mayor Michael O’Connor said the new Frederick Police Department headquarters on East All Saints Street is nearing completion as officials plan a public open house. The open house — scheduled for June — will let residents tour the facility before the department begins operations. WFMD
